Capri Cowboy Camper FREE TO GOOD HOME to any Expo Member!

Got the Capri Cowboy Camper home and had my woodworker friend take a look. He said no problem to repair it HOWEVER it would be at least 3 months before he could get to it.

I am too damn impatient to wait that long so the Capri is now FREE to any Expo member if anyone is interested.

The bottom plates where the camper top mounts to the bed rails are good. It's the vertical wood posts under the interior paneling that have a couple inches of rot and need replaced with new vertical wood "Sistered" on the existing vertical wood posts and then reattached to the bottom bed plates. The driver's side and front of the camper rails are the worst. The right side will also need repair however the lower bed rail is still attached. No need to disturb the outside factory aluminum siding.

People should not be scared of dealing with the wood rot. These are otherwise well made campers. Repairs should be cheap and easy, especially since there are no appliances or cabinets to get in your way when you pull off the paneling to make your fixes.

My first full sized camper was an ancient Gold Star 8’ cab over that unfortunately had a surprising amount of dry rot in the side rails (surprising because it’d been stored for its entire life in the dry desert). But even though at that time I wasn’t an accomplished carpenter, I was able to make more than adequate strengthening repairs to it, cheaply and easily as it turned out.

That full size camper sat on my truck for @ 11years and survived untold miles of mildly bad to absolutely terrible dirt roads all over the western US including Alaska, and western Canada including the Yukon. I had to reinforce those repairs every couple of years, but buying this beater for only $300 was one of the best deals ever.

And this one ⬆️ offered here is FREE!!!

Fixing this one up would be a great, enjoyable winter project for someone. It’s unbelievable that no one has jumped on this!
