Last day at the ranch. Went and shot my 9mm and my granddads 270 hunting rifle and was pretty happy. I did some off-roading too but was wanting to go through the mud bog .
because... Jeep...
I played around and did alright, got out the first time but I didn't go through the actual mud bog. Decided to go for it
because... Jeep...
Well... I got stuck. BIG TIME. Mud was up to the frame and there was no way in hell I was getting out of there without some kind of help. I ran to the hunting lodge and jumped into the 02 TJ with the warn winch in it. Hauled over to the bog and then began to try to winch my self out. Nope. Was in there gooooooooood. I didn't have D-shackles, had to hook it to the D-ring mount (Im ordering some ASAP) but nothing happened. It got to the point I put it into reverse, was spinning the tires and brining in the winch. The battery almost died.
Finally decided to text my dad for help. My Grandfather, Grand Uncle, and Uncle came over in my ganddads Chevy 2500 with a Duramax Diesel. (I am now calling it the Tug Truck).
Thankfully he had a tow strap, hooked it up, and he pulled me out no problem. No wheel spin, stutter, nothin.
Here are some pics:
I got a shovel from the lodge and tried to get some of the mud off the wheels. Did ok, then decided to head back to the lake house, which is about 5 miles away.
Those were the most terrifying 4-5 miles I've ever driven... Death Wobble like CRAZY.
My granduncle told me to get the pressure washer and clean out the wheels. The amount of mud that was on the inside was HUGE and was causing it to wobble like crazy.
3 hours later and headed home with no problems.
