Not a Bronco, but this is what I do in my Land Rover 109:

Also not a Bronco, but here is what I did in my X.

2 Raingler "Pet Barriors" I love them. Strong enough that nothing is coming through then, soft enough not to hurt if myself or the pup hits them.

I don't have pics at the moment, but I've got a dog barrier separating the back of my WK. Shopping-cart mesh style and pressure fit so it can be removed quickly if I need to lay the seats down and move some cargo. I tie off to it for cargo all the time.

IMO, a lot of these barriers might stop a dog or cargo from "wandering" up front, but there's no way they'd hold in a serious collision. In most cases, it appears to me that the mounting system is woefully inadequate. The factory uses 3 high-tensile 1/2" bolts for each seatbelt. Yet some of these barriers appear to be held in with a couple sheet metal screws.

Just sayin...

agreed. my plan for a barrier involves Hrew or Dom 1.5 or 1.75 tubing that creates a hoop or roll bar structure and then using welded on tabs to make an expanded metal or decorative metal (think graham's 110) load barrier strong but removable.

The roll bar will be welded or bolted straight to/through the floor behind the rear seat, and will have kickers that go back to the rear load area.

I'll try and find pics of someone elses build that is inspiring my idea's.

here it is.

Awesome, that's almost exactly what I was planning too. Basically a little bolt-in 4-point cage that will also add some roll-over protection.

The only other good solution I've seen is to tie-in to the seatbelt anchors. Short of that, I don't think these barriers will hold.

The milford barrier's utilize a backing plate for their anchors. As well as a these "accordion" mounts that absorb energy. I believe they will hold simply because there is heavy testing behind their products.
