Cargo Trailer morphed into off-road trailer

Well I have a High-Top Syncro Vanagon. You would think plenty of room for my wife and our two little kids... So I guess we toss and turn too much and keep my wife awake all night. So I started looking for a lightweight teardrop to pull behind the van. No Luck without spending $3500.00 min or getting a home built with 12" Wheels. Then I found this Cargo Trailer. 15" Tires, High ground Clearence, Cool Cargo Rack and most importantly 450lbs (All Aluminum). Here is what it looks like so far.

A/C Install On Front!

Looking for ideas to tie the van paint and the trailer paint together. I'm thinking of installing thick pin strip along the space in the center of the van with the trailer color then installing something on the trailer in the van color.

Looks like it will be pretty neat when done. What sort of a/c unit is that, i like that idea. Keep us posted :)

very cool. do you have any worries about the AC unit being rained on? I imagine the crontol panels may not be water proof?

what about bouncing around? any risk of damage?

I'm still trying to figure a good way to do AC on my camper build so any lessons-learned would be awesome.

Trailer is Made by Haul-it.

The Interior dimensions are 74LX45WX47H.

The A/C is an Standard window unit from Target for $89.00. I took some sheet metal over the holes and installed the sewer hose adapters. So far works good. The Unit only has (4) wires for controls so I am going to wire them remotely and install a quick connect. I am going to make a duffel bag for the unit with nylon screens where it needs to breathe. I wont leave it on the tongue of the trailer during travel. Most likely I am going to have it under the camper (for rain and such). A lot of tear drop people use the Dog House A/C - Heater Unit (http://www.americas-pet-store.com/dog-house-air-conditioner-heater-climate-control-unit.html). I can't seem to get my hands on a place that has some in stock. Might be out of business?

Quite obvious that I suck at paint and don't even think about photoshop, but just feed the lines thru from the van to the trailer

Depending on how big you need and how much you can spend. Look at camping world (or similar) for a smaller roof top A/C unit but expect to pay 600-700

Since it has been three months since you asked it might be too late but here is the make model and website where I got it.

Also this one... Different make but the same trailer. This one is manufactured in Michigan and can be custom ordered factory direct.

How hard would it be to replace the tires with 33s????? Are you going to sleep inside (air) or are you mountin a rooftop tent?

It is my wife's private sleeping quarters. She loves it. We installed a 4" thick mattress inside. I am figuring out some outside storage.
