Cargos for a tall slim guy 36" inseam

Hello! Im tall (6'3" and 200 pounds with a 32" waist) so Im pretty tall and slim. Almost all my height is in my legs so my inseam is 36". I have found cargos at places like old navy that fit soso but there all cotton. Sometimes I can find a 34" if there cut really long that fits but that's rare. I was looking at some of the pants "Bear Grylls" sales (trying to find anything 36") and noticed that in the wording of the tall (which are just 34") they make the crotch longer and not the legs!!!! WTH!!! IF... they even came in 36" I couldn't walk!! Personally I buy pants that are lower rise already. My legs are muscular but my rise is low (I have a flat butt so to say), and lower rise fits me perfect. That said... I don't wont pants made to hang down to my knees.

So far about the only thing I have found on my own ( I haven't ordered them yet) is REI's Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips because they come in a 36 inseam. Reviews seem to pretty decent. Are those tall guys only option in that area? What do you think of them? Hopefully they wont have a really long rise.

Thanks for the info. I scanned over that page and read a few reviews. I just need to see if a place carries them in my town to try them on. I looked on ebay and they have them on there as well. Thanks again!

I like being tall (6'3") but it would be nice to take 2 inches from my long legs and add to my torso. Tall shirts are to long for me anyway. So many nice pants end at 34" inseam. As far as my waist, its 32 and my weight is 200 pounds. I'm 40 y/o as of April but I had the exact same proportions at 18 except I went up to 210 then. The weight is easy to keep in check but the wrinkles and grey hair are not... not that it bothers me anyway.

Now, I'll high jack my on thread for just a sec for you 4x4x4doors.

As far as the weight goes... I love telling people how to fix that. I dont know everything about the body, but I know a few things. I have degrees in Exercise Phys, nutrition, and nursing. A lot I learned was just fine, but the way to eat and exercise (too me..) has changed from what I seen and read while in school.

Basically in school it was High carb and low fat with an hour of aerobics a day.... Most places still believe and teach that... but there is a better way... Ditch simple carbs for low glycemic vegetables, eat meat, and more meat, and nuts and berries... and exercise intense but for short periods... sit back and enjoy life with all your extra time and watch your body slowly transform and lab values come down where they should. It will be hard to sit still because you will have tons of energy eating that way since high and lows associated with all those carbs will be gone!... You will wont to do more because the foggy headed feeling will be gone. You will start feeling like super man!!!

It's hard for a person to wrap there mind around a few things... Fat doesnt make you fat!!! and aerobics pretty much suck! The body is not a sewing machine!!!

There are links I could post but I'm not sure if there allowed. One success story I like is a guy name Dave. Just google "unconquerable dave" and check out his story on a few sites. Pretty amazing!!

Although this works wonders... some people will still have problems. This can be because of there thyroid or being insulin resistant, type II diabetic ect... Its harder for them to loose. A trip to the doctor will fix those problems, or get them in check.

Your Doctor might not like you eating this way. Most wont, because they learned different in medical school just as I did. They don't wont to chance loosing there license even if they believe you. But... a few months eating vegetables, fat, nuts, and berries wont hurt anyone. Just wait... and let him see your numbers getting smaller and smaller. At that point most will be fine as its working.

Good luck!

I am also 6'3" and have trouble finding pants with 35 or 36" inseams...

Here are a few for you to try:

Vertx by Fechheimer
Rampart by Arc'teryx
Mountain Khakis (have to order online)
Prana
Eddie Bauer
Royal Robbins
5.11
or you can go to Cabelas, they carry long sizes...

Hope that helps...

Thanks so much for the recommendations. I narrowed it down to the Vertx pants. I am trying to decide on a size to order. There are lots of comments that they shrink a lot. I wear a 32 x 36 in jeans and dress pants, so.... I think I'm going to order a 33. I was worried the 36 might shrink up to much also, but most people say they seem extra long. I'll weigh that out when I see them. In a worst case, I can take out the seams and maybe... make them longer.

From whats been said they sound pretty nice. I like the fact they have a little stretch, a gusset, and the pockets are low profile. Now if they just fit and are not baggy. Some people say there really baggy and others say they ride to low and are tight??? Oh well, there's only one way to find out. I'm going to order a pair of OD green and either the Tan or Khaki.

While Im in the ordering mood, I'm going to also try out some new boxers. People on here seem to really like the ExOfficio Give-N-Go Boxer Brief. I am also looking at Under Amrours Boxerjock. They are both the same price and both get very good recommendations. The ExOfficio look pretty baggy but I assume that's just the photos. The UA look nicer... Pretty much I think either will turn out ok... It will be nice to test out the pants and new boxers on a hike!! I have a few other things I am checking on and sometime in the next few days I'll place an order.

I'm six foot six also with a 36 inch inseam, and I've had the best luck in recent years at Eddie Bauer. I love REI, but they're awful for long legs. I have three pairs of Mountain Khaki twills (not their cargoes) that are also a true 36 inseam.

Have you heard of Duluth Trading? They have firehose pants that are durable (lifetime warranty), comfortable, and have the 36" inseam you're looking for. I'm a hair under 6'5, weigh about 190, and mine fit good enough that I wear them everyday after I get home from work. No worries on washing them either, I live in Africa where washing is about as harsh as it gets and I haven't had any shrinkage.

They are a bit pricey at around $45 but they'll last for years to come. If they ever do wear out, let the company know and they'll send you another set. I figure that really makes the price about $22 but even at $45, they've been worth every penny.
