Carrying a 5lb Propane Tank in a JKUR

I'm trying to find a practical solution to carrying a 5lb propane tank in/on my Jeep JK.

I found this: http://store.adventuretrailers.com/products/JK-Propane-Bracket.html but am concerned about carrying a "bomb" inside the car. My primary concerns would be if a leak occurred or if the tank got very hot.

I live in the desert in NM and I do not have a roof rack.

Any thoughts, comments, etc would be appreciated.

There was a thread going around here where someone placed that same bracket on the rear corner of their JK....

Call Adventure Trailers. Mario sells the bracket that attaches to the rear driverside corner post of the hardtop. This keeps the bottle outside. It is really slick! Here is the website www.adventuretrailers.com

The external corner mount is located here.

The corner mount is used in conjunction with one of our 5lb brackets and a 5lb cylinder

It's not a bomb. Read up on propane tanks. If it had a puncture and there was a fire it would turn into a flame thrower. But the only way to blow it up would be to throw a full tank into a very hot fire. Any sort of puncture situation it just spews out. It's probably safer than your gas tank. I'm going to mount one to my rear roll bar using the quikfist toolbar kit and super straps.
