Photos of our new rig! We hit dirt the first day, in the first 10 miles
There's no doubt it's a 3/4T truck at heart. We'll be slowing down on our trips - and that's OK too. I've always tended to drive a weeeeeeeeee bit to fast anyway. The front suspension is quite supple, but the rear is definitely stiffer than I'm used to. It flex's very well considering the 3/4T weighted springs.
Huge Power...
Now that's a topic I never had to worry about with the 3.4L Tacoma.
All I can say is WHOOOOOOOOPY! In fact, there is so much torque available, we used 4x4 Hi a lot today just to keep the rear wheels from spinning. The rear axle has a limited slip in addition to the locker, but it couldn't overcome the freshly rained on roads we traveled today. Again, being a 3/4T truck, the tires were inflated to 60PSI - way to high for gaining good traction. And, I'm not a fan of the BFG A/T, so we'll see how long they stay on the truck. I've become accustom to having the best traction I can get via MT/R's. Perhaps a visit to Discount Tire will be in the works after my trip to LA.
Anyway, heres a few photos! The last one is obviously the inspiration for the color of the truck!
