Cen-Tech Battery Tender

I run a fridge, almost year-round in the back of my 4Runner, and never had an issue with the current Toyota Brand (Panasonic) battery that is in there now .... however, recently the DieHard Platinums were on sale, so I picked one up and installed it in the 4Runner. I am currently saving up for a National Luna PowerPack (http://www.equipt1.com/companies/Battery Systems/product-nl/118181-portable-power-pack) and when I get one, the DieHard will go into that, and the Panasonic will go back into it's original location. My question is how to maintain the Panasonic until it's time to swap it back? My thought was to simply keep it on a battery tender and call it good. Does this seem like a good plan? And when it comes to battery tenders, is there any reason to spend more then the one here ? http://www.harborfreight.com/automatic-battery-float-charger-42292.html

Thanks in advance on the feedback!

i have the other cheap unit form harbor freight permanently mounted behind the grill of my 03 dodge ram 1500 4x4 hemi. my damn viper alarm sometimes likes to kill my battery over a period of about a week (the truck isn't my daily driver) and i got sick of replacing batteries and the cost. So i mounted the unit up and i just leave her plugged in all the time. Been doing ti for a few years now and have no complaints. I'd say go for it. I plan to pick one up or my boat too.

in my experience, it's junk. get a Battery Tender. i bought one of the cen-tech's last year and it did nothing for my spare battery.

Just cant bring myself to buy HF junk. About the only thing I am sure of is thats its cheap junk, but if thats what your looking for I guess it works.

Ask the checkout person at wally world if the BattTender is optimized for AGM or wet cell batteries. Huh?

I use this companies products; they know batteries and are willing to explain it.

I have a fair number of cars, trucks, motorcycles, and tractors and have used numerous and various trickle chargers and battery maintainers over the years, including the name brands such as the Deltran Battery Tender, but in my not inconsiderable experience the BatteryMINDer has been the best of the lot by far. That's the only one I will buy any more. Just picked up two more on sale at Northern Tool.
