Thanks DetroitDarin! I think by now you guys in the US (with the 25 years import rule) are allowed to import the first 4x4 model of l300s. So sooner than later you might see more of these awesome vans in your country.

The Delica is a fantastic platform for this kind of travel. It is just a misconception of many people in the overland community that you need winch, 35"s and a roll-cage to travel the world.

Indeed but the winch makes recovery so much easier. See the Congo thread for lot's of recovery winchless. The 35's are not needed but are nice unless you have to find a replacement. The roll cage can save your life. I don't like to put a value on things that save lives.

So you can do it in a 2wd sedan if you wanted. Heck man, a Crown Vic has done Moab. But what makes the trip the most enjoyable and allows for the most time to enjoy yourself? A well outfitted 4wd in my opinion. Your van fits that bill to me but is on the light end of things in terms of capabilities.
