Was that in the USA?

It looks like two (or three) Mexican or Brazilian market VW vans. The 69+ bay window and the earlier style square windows were not offered in the US market, or Europe I believe.

Crazy long, I hope there is some hidden bracing!

No, this was not in the US. I am living in Paraguay right now and my wife and I needed to renew our visas so we went to Argentina for the day. We saw the van in Paraguay on the way to Argentina. There are tons of those vans here but that is the first stretched out one that I have seen.
