I have a 97 and love it. 223,000 and running semi well. another common mod is changing over to dodge neon injectors (smoother idle) claimed mileage gains. I like my 97 because of the more updated interior and smotther lines. But as stated they can have fits with wiring, mine currently likes to throw a check engine light for multiple misfire. But the aftermarket is strong for them, cheaper than other jeeps. Also I can walk into almost any parts house and find what I need without it needing to be ordered because they were relatively the same and there are a TON still on the road.

I have personally helped a friend tear into and repair his 92 XJ almost every weekend. That's simply what happens though when the PO only changes the oil and nothing else. The nice thing about the Renix's is that he gets around 25 mpg with his upgraded fuel injectors (can't remember the specifics but I believe they are out of a ford mustang). The dodge neon injectors are likely the same thing but I'm not sure. But I must say, aftermarket support is not there for the Renix.

92 wouldn't be Renix...90 was the last year for them. Bosch came on board with the intro of the H.O. 4.0 in 91. Just food for thought. ;)

99, hp30, updated intake manifold and still the distributor setup. Getting one with the 35 is not necessarily bad as a 8.25 can be had for less than 200. The nice thing about the ABS models is the larger front joints.

I really dont get the fear over the distriborless ignition system. I've got two with ~180k miles on them without issue. If anything it should be a prefered setup since it is less susceptible to water issues compared to individual wires.
