True...but

I couldn't agree more, 10,000 Dollar flashy paint-jobs make as much sense to me as non-alcoholic beer and 2wd SUVs, but to each their own. That's why baskin Robbins has 31 flavors, right?

The paint job is okay on the street but in the bush it would really standout. Does look nice inside but the price does seem high.

Original price was over $200K? Is that even possible?
It's REALLY nice though.

I've seen that on CL off and on for a while now - over a year at least. I seem to recall that at one time the asking price was 65k. Or maybe it was 69k.

Uh-Oh better get Maaco

I'm shocked that the paint and color are getting the lion share of the posts! Ok, I guess deviation from expedition white or desert tan will not be tolerated. I think price is a much bigger issue for most of us. That is a serious amount of dosh but considering: original price, mileage, condition, after market mods, etc. It seems about right. That being said I have noticed the the economic melt down of 2008 hasn't tricked down to Craigslist. While I certainly see good deal and have purchased a Northstar pop-up and a couple of motorcycles for fair prices they are few and far between. Every clapped out old beater is "collectable" or "vintage". There is alot of greedy people out there and a sucker born every minute, but this one looks about right to me. IMHO

Not only does it come that way, but it shows the MSRP as 120-150k.... not 200....

Yeah, I would imagine the price is a but high... but, not too far off...

And yeah, that is a stock paint job.....

Yea, that cracks me up. I remember seeing one of the CL "Best Ofs" where someone listed all the wrong things to do in a CL ad. The one thing I remember from that post some a line that went something like this:

"To be considered "vintage", an item must not have been a total piece of crap when it was new. If it was a piece of crap back then, it's still a piece of crap."

These last versions of the Chinooks, before the whole company went ashcan, were really top quality builds. My sister was looking at a 2wd a couple of years ago, and I was amazed how well put together it was, compared to my prior version 'Chinook' Blazer Chalet, which had a build quality leaning rather far into the not-so-good. Staple fasteners, sub-quality veneers, really cheap plywood cabinets, poorly designed latches, lousy appliance access, etc.

My guess is that the one here has a factory paint job, although more sedate. Never could wrap my arms around the more 'striking' paint jobs like the one in the original post.
