Excelsior!
When the last of us made it to the pavement, I had never before felt sad that it was time to air up the tires. On this journey old friendships had been renewed and new friends have become part of the band of adventurers that came together to explore the mighty Inyos.

Jim!
Perfect simple summary leaving just enough to provide those not privy to engage themselves in wild speculation.
Wonderful. I miss it already.

What a wonderful Adventure. We had a great time and want to thank Jim and the rest of the Conspirators for a memorable weekend. More images to come.

Another memorable surprise was that Chris' son Alistair proved himself to be quite an expert with Topo maps on an iPad and he became our navigation lead through the bewildering maze of USFS trails

What a great weekend!

I can't really add much to Jim's summary: great scenery, perfect weather, and a wonderful opportunity to see friends from past trips and meet some new friends.

I had mentioned to a few of you that Papoose Flat seems to be of interest to the geologists. It is a notable pluton, which is a body of intrusive igneous rock. I'm not an expert here, but I believe the large granite outcroppings that dot the flat are a result of this process.

Anyway, here is a link to a short article about the formation of Papoose Flat.; A Google search for "Papoose Flat pluton" will yield quite a few other articles about the area.

Thanks again Jim for all the work you put into the planning and logistics for the trip.
