Civil War Cannon Shot

Yesterday afternoon they demo fired a Civil War cannon for the elementary school kids across from my house.

They first fired a light load that got my attention so I had time to get my camera for the second shot. They gave it a full load on the second shot that shook the whole neighborhood. I bet a bunch of the retired folks around here got rude wake up call from their afternoon nap. :elkgrin:

With all the rain we had this winter our neighborhood is lit up with Brittlebush. Yellow in every direction you look.

And yes, I did also enjoy the big boom. :elkgrin:

It's Sunrise Elementary School between Swan and Craycroft. My Son went there for 4-5 and my daughter went there 1-5. It's a great school.

It's was also cool when they brought in a Boarder Patrol Apache helicopter and had it land in the playground.
