Classic Bronco?

Can't say I have ever heard/seen anyone say that before! you must really hate ford? gotta disagree on this one, classic broncos are some of the coolest rigs left, especially compared to ramchargers/trailblazers!!!

The original Bronco with a solid front axel is a classic rig that is awesome. Then came the Bronco with the I Beam front axel and it looked like a pregnant whale with a crap front differential to boot. That is the vehicle that I feel looks like crap and because of the I beam front end, drives like crap. I have had numerous front end guys tell me about the necessity or agrevated toe in settings to keep these vehicle driving straight. I hope this clears up and missunderstandings. Cheers, Chilli...

Solid front axle and ttb used the same differential a Dana 44. No weakness there in either solid or ttb as long as vehicle is in stock form. To short change the ttb because you think it is ugly and based on rumors is wrong of you. Setting toe in on a ttb VS a solid front axle is no different. If they have problems setting toe they need to go back to alignment school. Yes when you start jacking with things like ride height the toe and camber change. You can't fault factory design. It does what it is designed to do in stock form and does it well.

By the time I finish my 79 I will have near that or more. I never expect to ever get the value of what I put in to it. Since a little child I have been involved in frame off restorations. It is usually a money losing deal and you have to do it for the love of preserving history. I can not stress enough about how it is more labor intensive than just throwing reproduction parts at it. The market is flooded with older vehicles that have reproduced parts bolted on and a paint job thrown on it to make it look brand new.

This is the last vehicle that my Dad and I restored together before he past away. We did as he wished and all of his vehicles went to museums open to the public for all the world to see. He believed that was his payment for the labor of love he put into them.

That's an impressive legacy your father left.

I'd love to have a solid axle Bronco, and swap in a Dana 60. (guess the donor vehicle, I dare ya!)

But I'd rather have a Ramcharger than anything TTI. We don't like the TTI around here, like the west coast guys do.

I hear what you're saying about the AC, and I just got back from a trip around the Alpine Loop and Black Bear Pass where the interior of my Expedition got filthy, but I couldn't imagine doing the trails with my windows up and AC on. On the highway- the AC got used, but on the trail the windows come down.

I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment - particularly on such stunning country as the Alpine Loop. I've driven those trails numerous times and certainly always with the windows down unless I happened to be caught in a summer monsoon storm that seem to come up frequently there.
