You probably call them rims normally because you ride a dirtbike, those are rims IMO.

Yeah probably. I have a hard time calling them wheels. Because it needs a rim and a tire to be complete [wheel].

I mean...even Charlie Daniels calls it a rim...

Hoping those 5 spoke 4Runner wheels don't fall through...have been casually looking for that style for awhile, seems like every time I go to buy a set, they bought out from under me. Thought of getting a set of 3rd gen OR wheels...there are always a couple few sets on CL. But think the 5 spoke will fit the era of the truck better.

Not my truck, but you get the idea.

Found three sets of 5-spokes recently.
1 on a 4runner w/ blown engine that I'm really tempted to purchase and flip - $2k.
1 set with decent looking 265' AT's - $300
1 set with 90% tread 285 AT KO's that the guy wants $1700 for...

The ones I am looking at are $300 with a set of 265/70 Cooper HT3's on them with about 80% tread. I like the 265/75's better, but if he still has them I'll probably just run those until they are cooked...since I have been wanting a set of street treads anyway.

$1700!? that dude is high...

Its craiglist which brings all the weirdo buyers out, you should text him and ask him if the truck comes with it lol. Or just shoot a text that say "dude I don't want the whole truck, just the wheels and tires, how much"??

I had thought about it. He's unfortunately looking at NEW replacement costs for the Toyota wheels... and not the set that a person can pick up for $50-75/wheel w/ caps and lugs.

There's another set of 285's on some aftermarket wheels for $1k - Set of 5. That's a more palatable price for used.

New TRD/Sport take off's with new OEM Wrangler tires are going anywhere from $400-1000 here.

Granted not BFG AT KO's...but those are over priced pieces of crap anyhow...

I figure 75/wheel is a decent price for used factory wheels. Maybe up to 100, depending on the situation. I paid $550 for my FJ TT wheels - new in box with new lugs and was content with that.

wranglers... ick.

Not my first choice...but would be fine for commuting. Run 'em till their bald.

Found a set for $600. I am just not that crazy about that style on a 1st gen.

I have those. I know people black them out, but always thought they would look better bead blasted so it's all silver. Either way, the tires are good. I have been very impressed with such a highway/all-season looking tire.

There are always a bunch on CL...have seen them on 1st gen running around here. Not my favorite but could work.

Since I am driving so many highway miles now...want something less aggressive for daily driving. Will get a set of AT's for my 15's when I take my back country trips. Have been looking at Yokohama G015's since they are one of the few that still make a 32"-15" tire...I have about run all the major brands, like to try something different each round.

I'm unfamiliar of the trails you frequent, but I'd give those Goodyear's a run (if you end up buying them). Not bad at all.

I've done the 2 wheelsets per vehicle in the past. Sometimes it works (FWD cars with summer and snow tires). Maybe I'm getting too old, but it got to be such a pain. I just prefer to leave one set on year round.

If I get those 16's whatever they are... it would be 3 sets for me. I rotate every 6000 miles, so tossing on a different set isn't that big of a deal.

Have to run studded snow tires here since they don't take of the roads in the winter, lots of black ice...pretty much every person for themselves. Which honestly rather have that than dealing with tons of salt and rust like when I lived in PA.

Trails...hmmm...they vary wildly. We have everything from high desert to alpine and everything in between. Summer is dry and hard pack, maybe a little sand, fall/spring....muddy mess, mixed with dry and snow... it is all over the place. Winter...I have my snow tires on.

I must of read his text wrong, thought he wouldn’t be back in town until the 28th, it was the 23rd instead. Just picked up the 5 spoke. Wouldn’t you know it, a set of 16X7 steelies without tires came up a couple days ago on CL. But decided to go with the 5 spoke. Plus these came with tires which will be fine for commuting. Still some life in them. Must of read the tire type wrong, thought they were HT3's but these are HTP's....that will work! Should be a lot quieter than the AT's I have on there now, gotta admit I am growing tired of how they drone on and on...

Well, I'm sure most of you know, but I just got back into civilization from a visit to Idaho.

2019 Ranger build & price is up. I'm liking the pricing! Especially the discounts that usually come with Ford's. Although I'm sure the first few months or year, there won't be as much.

$32,785 for:

I think this is how I'd option it out. Tow package, keypad (this is awesome option. Lock the keys in the car and not worry about drowning expensive keys in water or it getting lost on the trails), and 3.73 locking diff. That's it.

Pricing isn't bad at all.

Super Cab XL 4X4, with rear seat delete came in at this. Noticed you can get it with vinyl flooring and seats too.

No locking diff *gasp* :) Have one now and rarely use it.
