If you are really headed to Death Valley and are passing through Reno, shoot me a p.m.

Thanks Brother. I ain't made it yet. Way south of ya tho already.

That looks like the hallmark place down the street from my work. Is that the place in Platteville?

Just north of Fort Lupton.

My navigatin' skills are lot better than my mechanical skills.

Starts fine in southern Nevada. 66 degrees today in Valley of Fire State Park. Beautiful place.

When I was in northern TN a few weeks ago it never got above 40 and was around 20 the next morning for crank up. Mine was slow but it did crank. Do you have the fuel bowl heater hooked up? I noticed when mine was not it would blow white smoke on a cold crank but has not since I plugged it in last year

As others have said, it's probably the GP relay. Ford relays are known for going bad. Even though they "click", they won't allow power to pass through to the glow plug circuit.

Another way to tell if your glow plugs are working... turn your headlights on, then turn the ignition on. Lights should dim for around one minute, then come back up. Also, the voltmeter should dip down for the same time.

On Fords, the glow plugs stay on for a while even after the "wait to start" light goes out.

Replace the Glow Plug Relay. Dont use OEM. Buy a Stancor 586-902 and be done. Also check the health of your batteries.

THeres no reason a 7.3 shouldnt start with those two components being healthy

It will fit, but dont bother wasting the $$

I went with the Western Plow relay, which is supposed to be just as good, and it costs a fraction of the $$

Part number is Western 56131K-2

Should be able to find one locally for less than $15 Otherwise closer to $25 shipped from online retailer.

Ive been running one for the past 2 years now, and no trouble at all. Its a good deal larger than OEM, and fits great.
