Montero Sports are known as the Challenger in other markets. They are based on the Mitsubishi Triton/L200 truck platform. They were competition for vehicles like the Nissan Frontier/XTerra. I think the engines are similar to the Montero 3.5L, but the other components are not shared. Others will have more information on the differences.
North American group decided to market it with the Montero Sport name here instead since that SUV was already an established product. There is probably no reason not to have a collection of Sport build threads for those looking through the forum. We already have 2 Montero Build Thread Collections.
