But most agree that the VAB and the Panhard are some of the best armored 4x4s out there.

I'm not French.. the biggest problem with the French aren't their material but their Government. The military is very good there.. but many of their vehicle lay in wast due to lack of money.. Then you have the Swiss, who have a lot of kit, and is used all the time, and is in perfect order, but will never see a shot fired in anger.. go figure.. I did think the joke was funny.. I just here it all of the time over there.. the Brits think very much the same thing over here.
