Just so you and others know, we give everyone the same level of support in the form of online info, guides, email / phone and trailers in the shop we can grab quick picture of to all our customers. I understand that a project like this is new for many, so we want to setup you up for success.

Scott, thanks for chiming in here. If I implied I received the support I did because of purchasing the additional materials sourced through you, it wasn't my intent. My thought process was it couldn't hurt (my frame of reference comes from being a general contractor) and you knew what you were doing as far a specifying particular components. I would have still argued your choice of springs up until the reality of the 2,100 mile trip across all sorts of road/trail conditions. Your support was exceptional, period. My ignorance knew no boundaries. Your follow-ups were timely, specific and simple to understand. If the level of service/feedback/handholding I received is your standard operating procedure, kudos to you. And thank you again for all the help. Bill

and that you have Scott...some really great designs and concepts to date. Jeff is a phenomenal designer and builder. Your support to our small trailer community has been a great asset. You have given so much back to us simple minded builders, and spent lots of time and energy dispersing free advice, and basically helped a bunch to get us where we are today.

Thank you, and here's wishing you continued success...

Thanks so much for the kind words! Hopefully we will get to share a  around a campfire at some point

Sure, no not at all. Funny on the springs ... Thanks! Yes, some times a little slower depending how busy I am, but I always shoot for second to none when to comes to customer support. Again, yours is a great Dinoot example that you should be very proud of.

What a fantastic looking trailer! I love the color. Out of curiosity, have you taken it over a scale with it loaded for bear?

Just as a reference point, a "basic" version of the Compact model Bill built on welded frame, with 27" 205/15" tires, weighs around 350 pounds

That is light! I think the stock M100 is at least 200lbs on that. You have a top shelf kit there Scott.
Yes, fiberglass can reduce weight while still providing a durable tub. Thanks! I like to think so, but I'm a little bias :)

OP, what does "Ruggedized" mean in regards to your Tepui? is it thicker canvas or something?
Short answer, Ruggedized model Tepuis have upgrades on multiple fronts. Upgrades begin by using 40% heavier 380g polyester cotton blend ripstop fabric. Next heavy duty hinges and thicker external aluminum diamond plate cap sheets are added to the base. Then 3/4" fully wrapped bows, an under mattress anti-condensation mat and a 30lb density mattress are installed making it a ruggedized beast of a tent. You can compare standard verses Ruggedized specs on my tent site at Tepui Tent Models

To clarify, my weight was fully loaded including roof top tent, gear and 15 gallons of water. I'm running LT305/65/R17 Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 tires on 7089 Pro Comp 17" wheels that match my Jeep to eliminate the need to carry trailer specific spare. Each tire/wheel combination weighs in at close to 95 lbs. The tongue box is 14 gauge steel and adds nearly 70 lbs. Bumper/D rings add 75 lbs., Tepui roof top tent adds 180 lbs., overbuilt 14 gauge steel brackets to support Thule load bars/tent added another 60 lbs. Add wiring, lights, interior bedlining and tie down tracks, 3 Thule load bars/towers, tonneau cover/mounting brackets not to mention free standing awning/frame, stove, fuel, cast iron skillet & dutch oven, clothes, boots, 125 lbs. of water, etc. and you see how my final weight came to be.

What a beautiful job! Great work.

Appreciate that, thank you jq.

^^ this. The heavy duty hinges, aluminum diamond plate and anti condensation mat were all on my list, the other upgrades were just icing.

I think 1200# is a very admirable weight for a fully loaded unit.

Interesting specs on the tepui. I was looking at a friends on a recent trip, and it seemed to be of better construction than others Id seen. Not sure what model he had. Not much of a RTT guy myself, but I can appreciate the purpose!

Just discovered this build...very well done. (and only 3 pages, easy reading! :) )

I have just recently inherited an old HF trailer, and after reading your build and all the comments here...followed the link to the Dinoot site and will be moving forward when funds allow with one of Scott's kits.

Thanks for all of the helpful information in this thread! :sombrero:
