Condensation in Freezer-Fridge?

How much is normal? None? Some? I may not have noticed it before and I'll inspect the rubber seal on the lid in case it is whacked. Condensation is not something that I recall noticing when the fridge was brand new.

My fridge is an Engel 45, maybe a year old.

Mine gets a little sometimes, nothing dripping.. but it gets a little. Depends on the weather i do believe. I think its normal.

Ours is a 45 qt ARB and is a year old also.

Hey! Missed seeing you at Bolsa Chica!

Mine is not dripping wet or pooling at the bottom, just some noticeable on the inside surface.

Thanks for the feedback!

I have an ARB 45 and an Engel 45. Both get condensation inside...mostly ice on both sides of the cooling element.

This is mainly due to the humid conditions I'm usually camping in. I started getting this from day 1 with my ARB (bought it new).

I wouldn't worry about it, but when you go to turn it off, make sure you wipe out what you can and then either prop the lid open or take the lid off to let it dry out.

Also, pull the green mat from the bottom and dry it out. I usually pull it and place it sideways in the basket so that it won't trap water underneath.

Last year when I camped in AZ, practically no condensation inside. I really think it has to do with how many times you open it and how humid the environment is.

If you pull a beer out of the fridge and it begins to create condensation on the bottle, then you should expect the same inside the fridge each time you open it.

Agreed on the care of the green mat as well as wiping down the insides as I have done the same.

I think that you nailed it when mentioning humidity. I am 3 miles from the beach. Although I don't open the fridge that often I don't think it is sealed as tightly as my big home fridge.

When I have been out in the desert or mountains I have not noticed condensation. So it is not that anything is suddenly wrong with the fridge (lid or seals) but it is really that I am operating in more humid air.

Good feedback!
