Has anyone upgraded or replaced the thin, metal cable door supports? My trailer is missing one on the rear lower fridge door while a couple on my kitchen side were changed to a chain replacement by the PO.

Has anyone upgraded any of these to gas struts yet, like the rear, upper fridge door?

I replaced the ones on the sides of mine with thicker cable from Home Depot. Looks the same but a whole lot stronger.

Dean replaced my struts right after I bought the thing; it sagged.
Nice and sturdy now.

My cables seem good though; never thought of a spare until now. Might be prudent to carry.

Good call. I stopped there today after work and snagged some 1/8 vinyl coated vs the stock stize of what appears to be 3/32, all for a mere .45c/ft. Sweeeet.

Inline water filter showed up today as well, yay!

I really like the pump idea, but how do you drain the tanks out? Do you have to take the hose off vs just opening the valve? Or are you going to just pump it dry? I like being able to open the vaule and drive away seeing a little trail in my mirror.

Good point - and I agree, it should be effortless to empty those suckers. Right now I would have to undo both hose connections underneath, which is a pain.

I have a bunch of garden hose quick connects I'd love to use, but there isn't enough room between the tanks and the rear frame rail for a series of connectors. I bet a 90* elbow would allow a setup parallel to the rear frame rail and plenty of room for quick disconnects.

I want to leave my rear taps where they are and run a pump so I have a way of getting the water without running the pump

plus they can be handy for washing hands rinsing the feet quickly etc..

Great thing you have a wonderfull and usable trailer unlike so many of us...
I'd like to ask you something though...in my "odyssey jeep trailer"thread, post #30 i'm questining if i can bolt the hitch from underneath the tongue just like you did...I know this was not made to be like that.What do you think?

It's similar to what I started with so I don't see why not.
I bought a receiver tube, drilled two holes through it to match the holes in the plate, and bolted it home.
You could get a plate and do the same thing or weld the receiver tube on. I chose bolts so that I could go back to the ball hitch in a pinch if needed.
I think that any good trailer shop could get you the 50-degree plate and receiver tube.
