Considering a G Wagen Cabrio

Hello
I'm considering a 460 series Cabrio. Anyone have a lead? Anyone care to share pros and cons? I know they're rare and to look for rust, wobbly drive shafts and worn wheel bearings.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi Peter,

You just missed a great one; Mark (inkblotz)'s 617A(turbo I-5) just sold!
Contact him for info on W460 Cabs; http://www.clubgwagen.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1922

Mark's truck looks sweet. I never get that lucky. I owe him a call.
I'm hoping someone here or on the P3 board knows whether or not Scott's rig is still available or can put me in touch with him. He's in Worcester MA.
Have a great weekend!

Do it--he'd love to chat Cab's.

I'm not sure who Scott is, but maybe I'd recognize his truck if I saw it.

PS--There was an INCREDIBLE white '84 280GE(?) Cab on AutoTrader a few months ago. Really immaculate shape from the pics. IIRC it was in NV. Was pricey at $24,500 IIRC. I don't see it up there anymore however. :(

If I were able to locate a rig, I would use it for wheeling. Any idea where I'd get bumpers and sliders and what I'd expect to pay?
Thanks

Peter,

I know of one that'd be perfect - turbo diesel, ready for the trails. PM me your phone number and I'll give you the low down.

Here's that incredible white cab, in FL; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-Mercedes-Benz-280GE-Cabrio-Gwagen-Hardtop-/110656466337?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item19c3a3ada1
