Oh the ****ty dash on the GX, my tip is just don't touch and it let it crumble slowly.
As for the rear door, that's the one thing i absolutely love about the Montero and GX. Not a fan of the hatchback SUV, typically i carry oversized things on the roof (canoe, wood, tubing etc) so when the roof is loaded i like to still be able to open the back door and access my cargo in the back rather than easing it open or holding it down to keep something from popping through my back glass. Plus you can put a folding table and your kitchen in the rear door of a Montero.
