Considering a Yaesu FT-897D, any input?

So my question is, if I invest in a Yaesu radio that does have HF/VHF/UHF, will I be able to program it to operate on commercial narrow band UHF frequencies/bands? or am I outta luck?

Many VHF/UHF radios including Yaesus will receive in some commercial bands, but cannot transmit on them without hacking the hardware. It is of course illegal to do in any event.

switch out that LDG tuner with a SGC tuner and you can add 80m to the mix and improve your 40-6m signals.

probably could but the SGC will not fit into the hidden compartment like the LDG will

I dont really use 80/75m anyhow
