Cool. It looks like a giant Toyota Chinook camper ;-D

If I'm not mistaken, it was built at least partially, by the same company that made the Chinook. That or they helped with the design. I don't remember which. Still a great looking truck though. I'd love that. :D

Well that one is clean enough :Wow1:

Nice find for somebody. Anybody know if they came outfitted with heaters?

Never seen a white one before, that's rare. So much better than yellow/tan with 70's graphics. Looks like maybe an engine fire happened -- flat black under the hood, engine parts painted, new hoses... the hood looks repainted maybe, no exterior photo of it. Or driver's side of the truck.

Furnace under the sink it appears.

No overdrive, or cruise control. Not having those makes driving less enjoyable. Plan on 8 mpg, that way if you get 10 or 12 it will make you happy.

Nonetheless, someone should call on it. Salvage title? Long term... GM diesel, relevant suspension upgrades, overdrive automatic -- and it would be ultimate. It already looks awesome.

It's a Blazer Chalet. Made only in 1976 and 1977. Apparently they were not that popular and/or the Feds cracked down on the weight and the design changes would have required significant modifications, so GM scraped the project. Only came in the Brown/Tan/Cream colors, so this is definitely a repaint. Canvas and interior look good though.

I own the GMC version, the Casa Grande, but mine needs some cleaning up.

amazing condition for the asking price
Perhaps, or not since price is a bit subjective when ones like this are altered from original condition (repaint, other add-ons like the awning). I thought our Yahoo Chalet forum member had it underpriced at $3400 when he sold it, but I thought it was a bit annoying that this dealer/consignment seller had the sale price more than doubled just over a week after it arrived on his lot. Serial #0258, built 7/76, the factory original color was light tan with the burnt orange accents & same color roof.

Another 50+ for sale around the country, I try to keep track of 'em on this map: http://www.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...4021239372740342517.00046a36d16106e8c8f86&z=3

Saw a similar rig, though in full 70's colors, for sale in Fredericksburg, VA just last week. Didn't have a camera with me, otherwise I would have stopped to take some pics.
