Crazy Australians

Which is probably why they don't push to have these imported...... Australia has some really nice trailers, but from what I've seen they are almost all way over priced.

Remember you can't do a straight dollar for dollar conversion.

Our wages, cost of living etc are higher than the USA as well so you're not comparing apples for apples

But yes they are expensive

The reported prices are average prices... and places like McDonald's McCafes and donut shops probably bring that average way down.

"Perth, in a recent national survey by coffee machine company Gilkatho, was the most expensive capital, with the average cappuccino costing $3.89, with some cafes selling a mug for as much as $7.25."

that is maybe the most pretentious price index metric I can possibly imagine. Is it accompanied by a comparison of average Pilates class and artisanal cheese prices?

Dude, you have to understand that anyone from Brisbane has an anxiety attack if they get more than 20 metres from a barista. (Yeah, the Aussies LOVE their coffee.)

+1. I live in Seattle. Coffee carts, bars etc are literally everywhere from bowling alleys to art shops. In fact I was in a Starbucks the other day, and way in the back I noticed an espresso stand.

But you can't really compare watered-down American coffee (that's been sitting on the warmer for hours) to other countries since most other countries wouldn't dare serve it that way.

Never been to Melbourne then. Coffee is taken very seriously with an abundance of quality locations to get it. It is actually quite a good index to compare costs

wow, I had no idea that Aussies liked their fancy coffees so much

It is indeed serious stuff here. It doesn't cost much to make good coffee at home. We buy whole beans and grind them then just use an espresso machine. Once you have good coffee it's impossible to drink crap stuff. Even when camping we take a stove top espresso maker. We don't rough it in that regard. :sombrero:

not all of us do, i'm happy to chuck some Nescafe or the like in a cup and drink that...bugger paying the rediculous figures coffee shops charge everyone for their fancy coffees i say...lol..It certainly has gotten trendy these days to be a fancy coffee drinker here in Oz though, the amount of tradies i see on jobsites with their cafe bought coffees in the morning is amazing, it's big business now.

This will blow your American minds. Brand new f250s start around $120k with Chevy silverados upwards to $150k. I was shocked to see that when I moved over here.
