Anyone ever had there cruise control fail on them? Mine just stopped working the other day. Light still works but it won't set. Made an appointment at the Yota dealer...is there any alternative? Already tried disconnecting the battery. Never realized how much I use it until now...

I hate to say this BUT...I don't have a clue what or where that is:( . Maybe I should dig up my owners manual...

Probably your multi-function switch. Fairly common problem and not a high dollar part. Maybe a $150 installed at the dealership.

Won't be in the owners manual, but can be found in the shop manual. Safest bet for you then is to take it to the stealership or if out of warranty to a dependable inde shop. But if you want to look for yourself for cracked hoses, which at this time costs nothing, is to remove the black cover off the top of your engine. So that you know, the throttle body in the front top part of your engine, this is where the air intake tube connects to the engine. The throttle body has two cables coming off it. One goes through the firewall into your cab, the other to the curise control. The servomotor is a black round thing that has the second throttle cable going to it. It will have one black hose coming off of it. Just check that hose, mine ended up cracking after only 2,000 miles.

Good point on the multi-function switch. Did you happen to wack it with your knee?

Thanks guys...had it in the shop yesterday....apparently the cruise control was completely shot, brake switch, cruise switch, etc. I will post the specifics after I get it all fixed Monday. 81,000 on the truck so I guess this king of $%#& happens! I love the cruise though, and we are planning a 6000 mi trip for the end of July (MT to ME, and back, lots of stops along the way...) so cruise is key. Unfortunately its not a inexpensive repair...
