Ctek 7002 clicking

Just picked up a ctek 7002, and plugged it in today on my trailer while it's parked to perk up the battery. I plugged it in and it quickly moved to the third light, but then makes a relay clicking nose every thirty seconds or so. Is this normal? What's going on? No indication of a fault or any lights other than solid green on the 3rd stage.

That is not normal. Is it new? Once it hits float (fully charged) it does slightly vary the voltage and maintains it. But mine certainly does not make a sound loud enough to really notice.

Did you put a volt meter on it? I believe this is the pulse charge. See what the manual says. I think mine does that and you can see the voltage change.

It is very noticeable... Some subsequent google searching indicates that this is a known problem, and indicates the unit is DOA. Oh well... back it goes. Any recommendations for a different unit?
