Custom Hardtop and Roll Bar Info?

Does anyone know where I can get a custom hardtop and rollbar for a JK Unlimited made around San Diego?

Want a Defender style roofline so I can raise the rear seats and bars.

I am thinking I can just use the OEM roof and have it reglassed, but was curious about a custom roof as well.

I want to raise the roof, push the bars to the limits of the veh and roof and raise the seats to stadium style. Then build a rear storage compartment level w/the bottom of the seats when they are folded flat. I am thinking slide out storage so I can still have kit on top and not worry abour moving it.

I would rather go with a Defender slope vice a Disco or Exterra to keep the lines clean. Most will be nonvisible due to a roofrack anyway.

Has anyone ever done their own roof glassing?

i've toyed with this idea, too with my LJ, i don't have any resources on glassing but i know a great metal fab guy out of rancho san diego. his company is called JackFab and his name (oddly enough) is Jack.

i can give you his number if you're interested.

he's a big toyota guy, and has built many custom exo-cages and body armor systems. very good quality welds and bending. his prices are VERY reasonable, too.

he quoted me an exo-cage/roof rack for my old 4runner for a bout 600.00 bucks, including materials.

Brian,
Thanks brother.

I know people hate to copy other vehicles, but when something works, I am all about incorporating it into my rig.

Drop the info when you get time. My Jeep comes in in Jul, so have much time to research.

i don't see a problem either, a lot of times a manufacturer would LIKE to use another idea from another make, but copyright laws are right there to stop them from infringing.

i say good on ya, the best rigs are built not bought. plus, if you screw it up, you're only out a small amount of cash and a replaceable part (hard top)...not like your chopping a metal cab:)
