D2 Engine Driven Air Compressor?

I was recently working on my accessory drive system, and noticed the big empty space where the ACE pump would go. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to mount an AC compressor there to make an engine driven pump system.

Has anybody done this before?
 
not on a d2 but on my 85 toy i used an AC pump for OBA, its awesome, huge volumes of air.
 
I've been trying to figure this one out for a while now. Just installed a York on a Jeep and it completely kills any other air compressor out there on the market.

I have just ye to find a compressor that will fit properly in the spot where the ACE should go.
 
If a York is too big look for a Sanden out of a late model Jeep. They are cylindrical and not much bigger around than the pulley.

Toyotas and Hondas use a smaller version of the Sanden as well. It's so cute compared to the ones in my Jeep. I bet it'll still blow an electric air compressor out of the water.
 
I wonder if it could be done by machining a new idler for the left hand side, such that it has two sheaves. 1 for the serpentine, and another sheave line in front of it for a V-belt. Then the V-belt powers the compressor.
 
I don't know what it looks like under the hood of a D2. Here it is done with a serpentine setup in a different vehicle using dual Sandens (one for OBA other for AC).

The regular battery was replaced with an Odyssey battery to make some space for the second compressor.

If you mount the compressors together like this I'd be inclined to make the bracketry more substantial than that shown in the images above.
