I have seen full racks on a '99 and a '00 D2. It seems to be fairly rare. Was it an option or a certain model?

My other question is about the SE7 model of the D2. On some models the left seat folds all the way in flush, but on others it hangs way out. Is this because some have rear A/C?

Thanks for the answers. Can the full rack be added to a Disco that didn't come with it from the factory? I would love the SD rack, but for now I have a Yakima LoadWarrior and would like to attach it to the factory crossbars.

Yes, I believe so. AFAIK, there are weld nuts under the roof panel. If you buy the rail kit from LR, it comes with a template, you drill a hole in the roof panel where the nut will be and screw down the rails. I haven't done it, just saw the proceedure on the Rave CD.

Your biggest problem would probably be finding a rail kit. I doubt they're made any more?

That rack extension is pretty cool. Not sure why I haven't ever seen that before.

I was behind one with right hand drive today.. his rear right hand tire was low, but when I tried to signal him, he just drove off faster then I could with my Defender..

I installed the roof rail extensions as one of my first mods. Pretty easy and a little scary, drilling the roof. You need to remove the interior trim above the storage bins. There's a part on the body that you insert a supplied drill guide to make a pilot hole through the roof. Then from the outside you use a hole saw to make the hole that the stud on the rail passes through. After sticking on the foam pad on the base section, insert the rail extension into the back of the existing rail, and tighten the bolt. Refit the trim pieces and you're done.

Unfortunately I didn't take pics, but it seems I have of everything else though. Have you looked at the RAVE Accessories instructions? It's covered in there and I can help explain any of the steps if you have questions. It's pretty straight forward. With the supplied drill bit guide it takes the guess work out of the drilling, which is the "hardest" part of the install. I couldn't find a 34mm hole saw, but purchased the equivalent size in inches at ACE.
