Just got back from a trip; Peloncillos, Animas Valley, Cloverdale, Chiricahuas, & Dragoons...no computers allowed
Boots sold to Tacovendor.
They Gore-Tex ones are great as far as waterproof-ness.
The standard Desert ones have vents so they don't do so well in water (although they dry very quickly), but in hot weather the vents really help.
The soles are also made of a different material to withstand/not transmit heat better.
I imagine in NY the GTX ones would be the way to go.
