Great write up and pics. The photos of Dedeckera Canyon make me even more weary about trying it out. Not sure how I would fare on those rocky sections. Were there any other people at the dunes other than your group?

So what happened to the trail trailer? You said it lost the axle... was it a weld or hardware failure?

Both. One of the leaf springs broke at the eye. One of the plate/bolt sets that connects the axle to the springs vanished. We took apart the jack and used that hardware to connect the axle to the spring and welded the broken spring eye.

There were 5 or 6 other campers at the dunes besides our group.
