Deluxe Camera Cage

Traveler
I know there are some other photo buffs on the forum so I thought I would share what we built today. Not wanting to spend big bucks on a HDSLR Camera Cage, we built one for about $30 that works exactly the same. Going to add a few cold shoe mounts tomorrow for the microphone, led light and monitor and then come up with a shoulder brace. It should end up in the price range of under $50 when complete. Something like this with a name brand on it will run you around $250 I believe. Not bad for a little DIY home project. The lower arms and upper guide arm are completely removable. Looking into possibly making a version that uses a quick release plate for the camera base. The entire housing holds the camera extremely firm. No shake, wobble, rattle or roll.

Also found a pretty cool $6 follow focus tool at Bed Bath & Beyond you can checkout on my site: http://www.jordanmay.com/2012/01/deluxe-camera-cage/

Thanks for looking!

Sweet. Might be nice to develop some type stand or prop so it can stay in upright position when you set it on the ground or table.
