Wow, This is the first time I have come across this thread and your journey! I absolutely love what you both are doing. Truly and inspiration to all! You were in my neck of the woods (San Francisco & Sonoma) I hope you have enjoyed your journeys so far and looking forward to many more blog posts! Way cool.

Just read your build, your blog and website and am very jealous. You are living the life!
I am working the 9-5 now, we'll, i'm lucky it's not 9-5, but it's stable, secure and routine. I work with lifeguards during the summer and have late fall, winter and very early spring with slow passed work. However, i have a 18 month old son and i can't imagine uprooting for that long with him and my wife. Though, it's been done by other families on this site before.

What i think i may do, hoping to learn some of the things you did…live in the moment, watch the sun rise/set, etc. is exploring the US with my son, my Tacoma Prerunner or Subaru Forester with a RTT. Come summer, i'll work on making one of our vehicles stateside friendly and in the fall, explore the US.

Anyways, i'm rambling, but want to say "have fun!".

Hey Richard,

Amazing how far you guys are still in this. Remembering when I first saw the post and you started with just the graphics outline sketch. Seriously following and living through your eyes.

Which camera setup do you guys have btw? I saw the vid for CVT you guys made so I'm assuming something with lens options. Have fun and keep updating!

Random question, I remember when you guys came through my area when you posted that you were camping in Pismo. Are you guys shipping the truck back or are you guys going to drive back home?

Our plan is to park in Costa Rica for awhile since we've got to go home and make some more money. Then we'll ship from Panama to Columbia, drive down to Ushuaia, ship to Florida, and then drive back home from there. It sounds like no big deal when you can type it all in one sentence...

I have been seriously lacking in updates here...

What I have been doing is updating our website and blog posts! http://desktoglory.com/

We've only got 4 more days before we store the truck in San Jose and fly home for awhile to work and save some money. We will be going to the NW Overland Rally and exploring the Pacific Northwest while we're at home though, so at least there is plenty to look forward to!

Just have to find a truck for home now...

Well, it looks like we have a new rig for some BC and PNW exploring! I was looking for a little project truck, but bought something that was already well put together instead. I think I finally learned my lesson that this saves money in the long run...

1993 Toyota Pickup
3.0L w/ NW Offroad cams and a slew of Proline/LCE parts
5 Speed
5.29s with Supra LSD rear and Lock Rite front
ProComp 4" bracket lift
Trail Gear bumpers front and rear
Toyota Fiberglass front fenders

Most of the work has been done within the last 20,000km so it's pretty fresh.
The Centerlines and Yokos are getting swapped out for black Rockcrawlers and Xterrains for now.

Almost ready for the NW Overland Rally!

We'll be returning to our regularly scheduled adventures on May 5th. Flights to Costa Rica are booked! We will continue south from there. Looking forward to wandering around South America!

Yo, since you two are among those that inspired us to embark on a similar journey, we've decided that you should ship Little Red to Mexico from BA and drive North. We'll meet you somewhere along the way. That's assuming you'll be ending around this time next year, just sayin.

Can't wait to follow the second half.
