My pic was taken at work, and the owner of that cruiser also has an immaculate FJ40, and a RRC, which he just sent off to have converted to a 300TDI. He's camping on the NC beach this weekend in that classic with his wife, and we were just group camping last weekend in the Pisgah national forest, where we got to meet up with Dendy and his family. It's really nice to gather with owners of other vehicles and be able to see all this different setups, and learn from each other about what's been tried, what works, what's in the works, etc.
It's like a little sample of Overland Expo out east.
The RRC is very much a real Land Rover. The RRC followed and improved on the Series, and the Defender was an evolution of the Series Land Rover gaining many of the benefits of the RRC to include the superior coil spring suspension and the V8. No Defender has made it across the Darien Gap yet as far as I'm tracking. That title belongs to CJ's, Range Rover Classics and a Series Land Rover.
