Dexter Torflex axle hub compatibility

Hi all,

I have a pop up trailer I'm building to handle some logging roads and the like,as it stands it could use a higher ride height and bigger tires.

It has a light duty dexter torflex axle, and I'm hoping that someone could tell me if a standard 2000lb hub would fit the spindle without me having to take it apart myself, so I could swap to 5x4.5 hubs and fit some 14 or 15" wheels instead of the 12s that are currently on it.

I'm going to say, probably, but that's not good enough, obviously. You might give eTrailer a call. They're helpful.

I put 205/75R14 on 2 trailers running 35psi for a little more cushion/durability off road. Swapping wheel/tires is easy. The fenders and making brackets for them takes the most time.

Well I decided to just get my hands greasy and find out, and it turns out that yes, the Torflex spindle is the same as any other dexter 2000lb axle, however I think I may as well keep the hydraulic brakes and I'll need to pichase a set of drums with the 5x4.5 pattern to do so.
