Diesel Heater Install

Im looking for someone that will install a Chinese diesel heater in a built 2015 Ford Transit in the Colorado area. I am in Avon/Vail but willing to travel a bit if necessary. Most van builders only want to install the webasto/ espar, but i have a CDH in my 2012 SMB and love it. Just cant make sense on paying 4 times as much for similar performance. Any leads or information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Last I heard ccv was putting their name on one of them and reselling. Leads me to believe they likely install as well.

or maybe install yourself? there’s a pretty informative fb page dedicated to these heaters. I’ve learned a lot lurking around. Always a few dickheads like with anywhere, but most of the members are really helpful.

I have a Chinese diesel heater and I have used it A LOT.

I would guess at least 14 full nights. My only advice is do not hard mount the fuel pump. It's really loud and thumps if you do. I have mine zip tied and I leave the pump suspended not touching anything and it's quiet now. It works really good and haven't had any issues at all with it.

A Quick Fist is a better idea.

14 nights is a lot? ;)

CCV is putting their name on Chinese diesel heaters? If I'm understanding you right, why?

knot sure, just a conversation I stumbled onto on the other forum. mark had mentioned in a diesel heater thread that they had been having really good luck with one of the chinese heaters and they planned on reselling them as ccv units. this was a while ago hence why I said last I heard because I haven’t seen anything about it since. I honestly haven’t seen any posts from him in quite a while.

edit: found his message.

I've used a 'p' clamp with the rubber strips for mine. They are inexpensive and function ok. I can still hear the ticking but it's only 3 feet from our heads on the out side of the camper wall.
I am surprised at how loud the exhaust is though. Doesn't bother us inside but you can hear it going 60 yards away from the camper.

I agree, it's one of those things you can't un-hear once you hear it. I run an Espar D2 daily on my work truck though and had a Planar for a long time in a Transit. I don't think the noise jumps out at other people unless they walk right by your rig because it's not an annoying noise, that's my take at least. The exhaust, to me, sounds about like any other RV furnace burning.

Do you have one of those muffler things? My Chinese one came with one, haven't tried it.

I have the mini muffler on mine. It helps. BUT, you can buy a mini bike muffler for $20 and it's almost silent, I've heard.

No muffler on mine yet. I don't have a lot of space for one. Might just see if I can add one easily only when needed, camping near others in the cold doesn't happen too often

Dang 60 yards?
I have three 8kw units set up to heat my garage and, even running full bore with no mufflers, I barely hear them once I get about 30 feet out.
Of course I live in town so ambient noise probably does a pretty good job of drowning out some noise.

I do like the idea of putting a mini bike muffler on the one that will eventually go in the van.
Beyond, hopefully, making it quiet, it might be a fun conversation piece.
