Diesel in Gas Cans

Does anyone know if you can put diesel in the Scepter MFC with Viton gasket and or new NATO Jerry cans for gas? I know the reverse isn't true. Forgive me if this has been answered in another thread. Did a quick search, no luck......

The NON-CARB Nato jerry cans are made to handle almost any fuel, black gasket, without any problem. As for the CARB model I have no idea if it can handle multi fuel duties.

Diesel fuel is a lot less volatile than gasoline and a lot less aggressive as a solvent. I'd expect anything suitable for gasoline to be more than good enough for diesel fuel.

Viton is one seriously chemical resistant elastomer. There are a lot of chemical compatibility guides out there, such as this one, if you care to do any research in the area.

Polyethylene fuel tanks -- like in most of our cars these days -- are normally fluorine-treated for barrier properties. Don't know if Scepter diesel/gas tanks differ in this respect, but again, gasoline is tougher and oughta easily downgrade to diesel.
