Diesel JK

Hey all

I know this might be a longshot but I thought I'd try. I'm in Korea and just purchased a JKRubicon Unlimited 2.8l diesel and I'm looking for break-in information. This is my first diesel and only second new car.... so I'm a bit of a noob.

Are you bragging or just hanging the forbidden fruit in front of our noses? Just kidding and congrats on the diesel jk! I'd love to have one of those.....

Get a Provent 200 filter it is mounted in the engine block venting line to the intake manifold.
It filters the blow-by oil and returning it back into the pan.
Not cheap.
But an investment for the long run. You will experience difficulties with oil and soot in the intake.

The next step:_
Get an EGR delete.
Difficulties will develop otherwise at around 40k miles.
You can avoid them by taking care now.

Enjoy your Diesel!

Weasel... I'm a complete Diesel Noob... What exactly do these changes do? How expensive (guestimate) are they? Was there any economy improvement with it? Also, this is for the JK Wrangler, right?

The EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve takes a bit of exhaust and routes it back into the intake for reburning. In a Diesel this can cause caking of the intake manifold leading to premature failure of the motor. This was a known issue in your engine's previous generation (A428 and R428 respectively), but I can't speak for the new motors.

pop your engine cover off, and post a couple pics of the mill if you don't mind.
