Diesel Swap: 6BT or 6.2 Donor Truck?

I'd say I have pretty extensive knowledge on this subject...:sombrero:

First of all, I agree that the 6.2 gets a bad rap most of the time. If my truck wasn't 4 tons empty, and I didn't plan on towing Im sure Id still be happy with my banks turbo'd 6.2, with sm465 trans and ranger gear splitter.

However, my truck DOES weigh 4 tons, I do plan on towing and having to split gears was a little annoying. So I put a 1990 Cummins 6bt in my truck complete with an nv4500 5 speed.

6bt Pros:
-More simple,
-More reliable
-More common parts
-Better cold starting by FAAAAAAAAAAR:ylsmoke:
-More POWER:smiley_drive:
-sounds cooler

6.2 Pros:
-easier to install
-takes less oil
-all factory
-v8? haha

however if you aren't planning on towing a 4bt could actually be a great choice. Anyone who thinks they aren't capable certainly hasn't driven one:bike_rider:
