Differences Sequoia / Land Cruiser 200 last model Generation

Hello!

so there is the very rare opportunity to get a 2015 Sequoia here in Germany, but i dont know much about the vehicle since it is quite rare.

Of course it is a bit longer then the big Land Cruiser, has a bigger Gas only Engine and is allowed to tow more, but features less offroad capabilities right?

But the base is the same vehicle as far as i know? So same front suspension, rear axle and frame right? Because all of those components are pretty massive in the LC and would make for a pretty solid basis.

Kind regards,

Marcus

AFAIK, the Sequoia is based on the Tundra and has little in common with the Land Cruiser. Don't know if this is still the case with the newest ones.

The Sequoia is very different. The front suspension is like the Tundra and is different from the LC. The rear end is IRS versus the LC solid axle. I didn't know about the transmission and transfer case. It's a good vehicle but it's doesn't share as much with the LC as you might expect.

Oh ok, i thought bothe the Seq. and the LC had basically the same frame, as it was both a boxed version of the tundra frame just with different wheelbases? Right i forgot the Seq. had an IRS, which is gues is weaker and might be the reason why back then the LC had higher towing. Nowadays i think the Seq. has higher towing, but not in 2015.

Well if you somehow have the choice between both its kind of a thing to consider. The Seq is longer, which has its advantages and disadvantages. But is the frame now pretty much the same or not? And the front suspension?

Can you explain your "frame fetish"?

I’ve got a friend who just sold his built LC 100 for a sequoia. He said no regrets, he did go to the more modern sequoia with the 5.7.

What will you be using it for? I think the better vehicle depends on your intended usage.

Sequoia is plenty strong, by the way. Look at the videos on YouTube with sequoias on 37’s doing some pretty tough trails. I’d not worry about the IRS.
