Agreed - WIX is the way to go for filters (other than waiting for the MANN).
I just replaced mine with a WIX - removed an AC Delco that had been installed per the previous owner who knows how many years ago.
Upon removal, I could both see and hear the AC Delco filter element rattling around inside the filter housing. This will likely cost me a thorough injector cleaning, if not replacement - I can only imagine the crud from a '97 fuel tank finding it's way forward.
