"with some patience you could develop something yourself for less than half that price"

Sure, after 15 years of off-road racing experience and a mechanical engineering degree,
it's possible someone could come up with a better result!

Kidding aside, suspension development is something I think is best left
to people who know what they're doing. This isn't like building a bumper.
But if you want to try, more power to you.

X2... finding the optimum springs rates is one thing (im sure theres dozens of springs scraped in favor of better ones), let alone how many times you have to take the shocks apart to revalve them...

best left to the truly dedicated and experienced.

I've been looking at the Carli Performance 2.0 package for my 2500, but I'm wondering what the changes in payload capacity are. I'm trying to find a good setup to help with my 2500lb camper and get myself some more suspension travel/tire size. I've got air bags in the back and considered rancho 9000xl shocks and a leveling kit in the font for now. The truck handles the camper pretty good, but I would like to reduce some of the body roll caused by the camper some more.

I sent Carli an email this morning, and will let you all know what they say.

I've got a Dodge '03 1 ton and run 35" tires with no lift.

Almost the same here, just some 2" spacers up front to level out the truck.

Spirson makes a nice product, no doubt in that but its more of a lift than a suspension system. I'd put them between Carli/Thuren/Kore and Fabtech/ProComp/Superlift. It can cruise the malls just fine and do some good offroading but I would never have it on a chase truck, let alone put it in a race.

Hello to all. A friend of mine pointed me in the direction of this thread to see if I could answer any questions about my truck.

Those of you that are not familiar with the Spirson System should take a look into it. I think you would find its quality and performance to be right up there with the Carli / Thuren products.

Some have made comments about being able to fit 37" tires with less lift, while this is true it can be done, with the 6" system you can pretty much fit any wheel and tire combo (37") and not have any rubbing or touching anywhere, not even the front valance. I know when using less lift it is imperative that you have as close to the factory BS as possible and things still need to be trimmed / clearanced to fit the larger tires.

For the comment about the 20" wheels being "bling". Yes, they are. That is how my wife drives the truck daily. When we are going to use the truck offroad I have 37's on 17" wheels and it does help.

For the comment above about not using as a chase truck or a race truck, I'm not sure why you would say this.

A race truck it is not. Could the suspesion be used on a race truck, sure, it is definitely HD enough and works extremely well. Would other things need to be done to reinforce some areas, you betcha.

A chase truck now, it surely could and does to an extent. My suspension has seen many miles of dirt / sand /clay / rock / shale / etc.. While I'm am not abusive to it, I have not had any failures caused by the suspension.

Anyway.... Just wanted to comment on a few of the things I read. If you have any other questions I would be glad to answer them.

I own an '09 PW with 35's, 3 inches of front and rear lift via 1" front spacers combined with the stock PW springs front and rear, and 1/2 over stock control arms. I still have rubbing at full stuff on both front and rear axles. It would need a minimum of of an additional inch to eliminate contact with 35's, probably a total of 5" or 6" to clear 37's.

I often wonder about the claims I see on what hits and what fits on lifts. Are they getting 100% articulation? Are they using over length bump stops to avoid contact?

Back to the original post, the Spirson lift looks very good. I like it!
