Dodge 2500 Steps

My wife has been tolerating the height of my 2006 regular cab with 3" springs, but not thrilled with the height of the door jamb. I'm still running stock tires but will be switching to larger tires shortly, and I need to be pre-emptive in dealing with the added height.

I don't love any of the steps I've seen, but I think the cab length N-Fabs are the best looking/functional. Yet I don't think the faux rockrail would do much if it was actually challenged.

So, I'm looking for other options to fit a 2006 dodge 2500 regular cab. My torklift camper tiedowns are behind the doors, so I think I need to stick with a cab length.

Options, experiences, other?

Thanks
-Chris

Chris, you're welcome to take an up close and personal look at my N-Fabs if you'd like. The issue I have with them is that they attach to the pinch weld under the cab. One of my holes ended up too high and I messed up the rocker a little when the washer pulled tight.

I haven't been around ExPo a lot lately, so please forgive me if I don't get back to you right away.

Yeah, I have been having the same issue. I want some rails that will actually take a full hit, should it happen. Coming in at 8500 lbs. I can't see the N-Fabs holding up. I have heard that Aluminess builds some (might not be listed online) and mount to the body but however they do it, they are solid when hit. I think it was another site I was on that showed a guy that got t-boned at 45 mph and the rockers were fine. The door on the other hand wasn't so much. Might have even been on ExPo.\

Thanks for the link to the Aluminess rails. Im pretty close to them, so I'll have to check in with them. Those do look nice, and strong.

I have the Dodge branded AMP power steps. Work great, my wife loves them. They will hopefully be coming off soon though for a set of custom rock rails.

blue torch fab started making sets for customers. i believe they can be ordered custom lengths. quite a bit smoother than the nfabs

Actually read the whole thread and they are not making them unless you come into the shop. They don't want to deal with shipping anymore so if you're local to them, cool, otherwise they are not an option. I may build my own based on their design... if I ever get time. LOL

The Aluminess steps are a quality product as is anything coming out of their shop. I'm fortunate to have been given a tour of their facility. All the team members seem appreciative to be sharing their talents with customers.

I'm looking for some rock rails for my truck as well, and aluminess was almost an option until I saw pricing :( Ouch.

How about a poll on what the most popular Dodge model year and cab configuration would be, so if "Someone" wanted to start manufacturing them this "Someone" would know where to start? :) :)

I think I know a "Someone" lol"!

This "someone" should start with a 2006 quad cab power wagon. This "someone" should use my truck as a template since I am not far from Hesperia. This "someone" should thank me for use of the truck with a thank you set of sliders and a glass of "something" cold and frosty :)
