Do I spy a chrysler 8.25 axle leftover from the KJ in the back of those rigs?

It's certainly a solid axle and it has the charactoristic flat bottom of the Chryco axle...

Ifn'so, has anyone thrown a locker in the back of one? nice little rigs for commuting/fireroading/overlanding/mucking about.

ARB would be transparent till you needed it.

Yes same rear axle and same platform. The nitro only has a single speed Tcase and of coarse the Jeep has the 2 speed.

ah, I see. so no low range, but you can still lock the rear? interesting...

all the same pretty much but the sheet metal, even built on the same line here in Toledo
Would never buy the Nitro though, downright ugly, worse than the KK

funny thing though I did see one Nitro in Tanzania the last trip over

Probably not a real interest for me, just thought I'd ask in case someone was considering getting one.

That 8.25 axle is very stout, and can take some flogging. Takes that line of vehicles up a notch in my book.
