Hi Brett, I have an ARB fridge/freezer in my Ford Transit Connect. About 2 years ago I put an AGM battery in the vehicle. I think the battery is getting tired. I’m now thinking of ordering an ArkPak 715.
I’m trying to figure out what battery to get. I’m assuming I should get an AGM since it will be inside the vehicle.I was looking at a VMAX MR137-120 Deep Cycle AGM battery. It states the minimum charger should at least be 8 amps. I notice the dc charge in the 715 is 6 or 7 amps? What do you think?
Or, can you or someone please recommend a really good battery for the 715? I will probably only be running the ARB fridge, but want it to do a good job. I’m in the U.S.
Thanks,
Tom

Thanks Brett, I appreciate the information. Now I have to get busy trying to find one of these batteries locally. If not, I’ll buy online. One more question Brett, is the Optima Blue-Top 8052-161 D31M also a good choice? I want to make sure the charger in the AP715/AP730 is compatible. The reason I consider, I can find a fresh one locally for sure, with a build date of 7/19. I also need to order the AP715, or, now I’m thinking the AP730 instead. I’m assuming the AP730P is not available in the U.S.?
Thanks,
Tom

Brett, just placed an order for an AP730, looking forward to it!
Amazon wants over $500 for the Exide(maybe that’s the going rate?)

Since ARK didn't offer any holiday specials for the ArkPak this year, I wound up buying a 730 from an eBay seller and used an eBay Black Friday coupon to save $40. That was the kick in the pants I needed to finally go ahead and buy one after several years of daydreaming about it. I've been wanting to upgrade my Jeep's dual battery setup for a while now, and the ArkPak gives me the flexibility I was looking for. Now I just need to finish building my cargo area fridge slide, compressor, and ArkPak mount to be ready for next season's adventures!

Still just 2 batteries - the Group 31 AGM that was installed under my rear seat prevented me from being able to fold the seat down. I was looking at other mounting options and decided to go with the ArkPak which allows me to completely remove the battery when needed and also use it as a power station that doesn't tie me down to the Jeep. The ArkPak provides me with all of my uses as a dual battery setup, plus a lot more. It's not cheap, but it's worth it.

Ah, Ok: a single, until you want/need the double, and then you do this. Gotcha. I wonder if I should do the same for me; I would truly only need a second for times I'll winch
