Seems to be a vintage contractors trailer. Cool sliding drawers and shelves. Doors lock in open position and all drawers and shelves lock in closed position. Might put a RTT on it once its dialed in.
Made out of a ladder frame and sheet metal approx. 4x6 and 1100-1200 lbs.

Nice find..I'd have bought it as well and I have no need for it, but it is too cool to pass up.

After showing it to the wife we decided that if we had been the ones to find it we would start looking for old Jeep commando to pull it, set up on matching tires/wheels and painted to match....VERY cool.

That is so expo ready!
I would have bought it too.
A little customizing, paint and a RTT and you will be hitting the road.

Nice score! Post your build.

Great find! The amount of storage space alone looks fantastic!

A little more research and found out it is by Highway Trailer Co. in 1955. This thing is stout! The frame is 3/8 thick angle. Has some weird axle though. It will have to go before leaving the asphalt. Looks like a front axle from a truck, thick cast steel, king pins, with small drop in the center. That's ok because I planned on setting it up to take my Landcruiser wheels. I cant even see the thing when I towed it behind my Excursion. Will post build when I start it.

That could very well be. Has holes where roof rack might go and it has that weird drop section in the roof.

Just sold the the exact same thing on thusday. Was going to turn mine into an expo trailer until I found the Trak Shak. Couldn't hardly give it away.

First mod

The clearance at the axle was not going to work for my intended use, so away it goes. I wanted to match the hubs to one of my tow rigs, so I chose the Toyota's. I special ordered this one that has idler hubs, but also has the flanges and wiring to add brakes if I see the need. I already had the wheels and tires laying around. The tires are 235/85R16 Toyo M-55's. The clearance is much better now!axle 002.jpgaxle 009.JPGaxle 005.jpgaxle 010.jpg
