Heyo. I posted a while back to introduce myself and the truck we bought. It's a '99 GMC Yukon SLT 4x4. Now comes the time to invest in it and was wondering what recommendations the expo world would have. Budget isnt going to be anything crazy, <2000. The report from the shop inspection concluded that there were some leaks. The rear shocks, front pinion seal, left axle seal all leaking. Not too bad. Seeping, not yet hitting the ground.
I have long term hopes for this to be a solid camping trail rig. Right now it's our daily driver in town. So full blown off road options aren't too practical at the moment. Wondering if there are steps to take in that direction, sort of prepping for the big league mods down the road.
Another issue at the moment is poor mpg. We're getting around 9 average. That's low. I'm thinking its attributed to the mismatched all terrain tires and the airraid air intake with the sensor that keeps popping up a code.
Recently had the transmission fluid changed, oil change. Other tune up stuff is in the near future (plugs, wires, tackle this air filter issue)
The truck has about 167,000 miles on it. I'd like to keep it through another 100,000.
What would you do with a $2000 budget?
Thanks!
